Seabass’ Diary…Day 135…It’s Over…

February 27, 2017-The door to the van slammed shut and we were immediately swarmed by the S.W.A.T team. I knew that this was a bad idea and felt sick to my stomach when I looked at the large, stupid human. He had been struck in the face and blood trickled down his forehead, three men tied his arms behind his back and his feet together. He flailed his limbs to break free but couldn’t. There were too many of them. I was restrained by two men and tried to bite at them as they hog-tied me, it was useless because I couldn’t reach them. They did the same to Bernard and Simba as I watched on in horror.

I was restrained by two men and tried to bite at them as they hog-tied me, it was useless because I couldn’t reach them. They did the same to Bernard and Simba as I watched on in horror. One of the men in the S.W.A.T. vests spoke, “This is it. You have been beaten and there is no way that you’re to get to the small, stupid human in time to save her life.”

“No! NO! NO! NO!” the large, stupid human thundered. “This is NOT going to end this way!”

There was an icy laugh from the front seat of the van and my heart almost stopped when I recognized it. The tall thin woman.

“Now now, not to worry! We ARE taking you to her…because that way you can all be together when it ends and I can make absolutely certain that I’ve done away with ALL of you.”

Seabass’ Diary…Day 93…S.W.A.T.

August 2, 2016-Just as I was about to spring into action something caught my eye; in the back of the stolen police cruiser there was something that looked a lot like a rocket launcher. I blinked and tried to clear my eyes but the image remained the same…it was definitely a huge weapon that would cause a lot of destruction. Once again sirens were getting closer and I hoped that the real police were coming this time.

I unlocked the door and something amazing happened; a group of men dressed in black, with the letters SWAT emblazoned on their jackets, rushed out of the forest like a raid of army ants. Henri released grandpa and tried to re-enter the stolen police car; an officer threw a grenade type item into the vehicle and the SWAT team incapacitated Henri with a flash bang as grandpa was moved to a safe location. They took Henri into custody and the main road was flooded with police cars, tactical units and news crews.

The entire scene was chaos! I linked arms with Simba and the other animals and we huddled together in the truck; within minutes the police had approached the vehicle and opened the doors-the lights from the camera crews were blinding. “Looks like they’re all here-load them into the van and get them to a clinic to have a once over before you release them to their families,” a large officer said. The police loaded us into a large van where we waited for grandpa who was being treated for his injuries; I heard reporters yelling at him for an interview but he remained silent. Caleb squinted as he looked out the window and his tail started to wag for the first time since I’ve met him, “My family…they’re here!” Tears streamed down his cheeks and he shook with happiness-it would only be a matter of hours before they were reunited for good. I looked out over the crowd and saw a few familiar faces…the small, stupid human and the large stupid human were standing in the crowd behind caution tape…they were finally here to collect us.

Seabass’ Diary…Day 43…Caught!

May 17, 2016-The truck sped down the street and crashed to a stop when it hit a parked car. The sirens were getting louder so I gave my men final instructions, “Someone is coming for us…Luigi has alerted the authorities! We must run and leave the food behind or else we will be imprisoned-Go! Get out of here!”

The men did as I said and climbed out the window onto the street and disappeared into the darkness. Only Simba and I remained, “What are you waiting for? We need to get out of here!” he said, his eyes said it all. He was afraid. The back door burst open and men in uniforms communicated silently with eachother, weapons drawn, “Clear!” each man said after another and they put their weapons away. We were huddled in the corner when all of the sudden a great beam of light revealed our hiding place. “There’s a couple of cats in here but that’s it…looks like the driver is long gone, scour the neighbourhood until he’s found and call animal control,” said the lead officer. “He couldn’t have made it that far on foot.”  He had the word SWAT on the back of his vest and I wondered what it meant…Special Weapons And Tactics would be a good description if I were the one deciding what it should stand for.

We continued to crouch together in the corner and Simba had his forehead touching the wall. He refused to look around at what was happening. A few minutes later a human came in a different uniform. He carried a large animal transportation device and picked me up first…I resisted arrest but could not break his grasp. Simba was next and he co-operated fully, I supposed if this ever went to court that would benefit him greatly…I wouldn’t be as lucky.

My Mug Shot…

Seabass’ Diary…Day 11…

The canine had located me. I swatted at his nose with my huge paw and he retreated in agony. The alien leader reached behind the cell where I was and captured me. The fight was over; I was returned to the examination room where I was injected with some sort of poison…I am sure that’s how the label read, “RABIES VACCINE.” I was lowered back into the animal trapping station and transported  back home by the small, stupid human.

We arrived home without incident but I was about to change all of that. I entered the prison and Simbicile was on site for my arrival. He examined me thoroughly and when he was satisfied with his findings, he hissed and growled at me; but I couldn’t blame him, I had the smell of the alien all over me.He exiled me from the top floor so  I retreated to my lair and groomed myself frantically  to rid myself of the repugnant scent. The small, stupid human would pay for this and she would pay for it dearly. How dare she even entertain the thought of bringing me to the aliens? Oh my revenge would be slow and justified; my reign of sheer terror was about to begin and it would be magnificent!

For the next few hours I thought about how to repay the small, stupid human for her betrayal and then, like a wonderful strike of lightning, it came to me in a dream. I awoke with a marvellous, sinister plan and decided it was never too early to start putting it into action! I ascended up the basement steps and calmly scoured the house for the small, stupid human and the large one; they were gone. Excellent! It was time to begin. Simbicile was snoring peacefully in his lodgings but not for long…

I was going to disconnect the power to the furnace but first I had to find a way in to disable it. This would cause the humans to freeze to death and finally I would be rid of them and attain my freedom! I entered the basement ceiling through a cold air return vent that was left open by the large, stupid human. He seemed to be repairing the flooring and no doubt would return to the prison soon…there was little time before his arrival so I had to act quickly. Simbicile saw me enter the hole and warned me not to proceed, but I reminded him of his place with a swift swat to the face. He left me in peace and returned to his slumber ; I continued my mission.

I made my way through a series of twists and turns and soon found myself at a barrier. I was stuck in this labyrinth and disoriented; I could not find a way out of the basement ceiling and my mission of disconnecting the furnace had failed. No matter, I had a plan B at the ready to torture the humans. The large, stupid human had returned and continued his work. In the mean time, I made the best of the situation and slept more soundly that I had in years…I was quite comfortable lodged at the end of a corridor, high above the floor, nestled inside the ceiling. A few hours later the large, stupid human seemed to notice my departure…there was a pitch of worry in his voice as he called for me, as if I would really respond to his desperateness. He had entered the basement and I could hear him on an electronic device talking to the small human. He said that he was worried that I could not be located…idiot, for I was mere inches above his very head, hidden behind plaster and paint. He disconnected from the small, stupid human and continued his desperate attempt to find me before she got home.
