Seabass’ Diary…Day 26…

April 24, 2016

I stood there frozen. Stephanie hadn’t spotted me yet and in a split second I made the decision to return to the prison…it would be better than being anywhere with her. I turned on my heels but it was too late. She jumped out of the bushes and started rubbing her face all over me-she grabbed me and smooched me as hard as she could; it left me breathless, but not in a good way. She was in love with me, but who could blame her? I am a magnificent specimen of black panther and anyone would be lucky to have me. I did not want to become involved with her because it would take my focus away from world domination…besides she had broken my heart once already.

I struggled to get away from her but she was stronger than me. She had me pinned and was grooming me furiously. I had no choice but to play dead.  Monty tracked my scent and found us in the bushes, the small, stupid human finally discovered us and scooped me up. “Stephanie!” she exclaimed with glee,”I haven’t seen you in months, I was worried about you!” Such treason made my guts churn. Stephanie loved the small, stupid human because she left  vittles at the gate of the prison as well as fresh water for all of the travellers.

I had seen many of my kinsmen from the clear barrier in the prison, I oft wondered what it would be like to join them on their travels. Did they also have aspirations to get rid of the humans? Did they aspire to take over the world like me? So many questions, but no answers .Stephanie was a gypsy of sorts and travelled constantly but she always turned up eventually. After I hadn’t seen her for an extended amount of time I thought that my wish had been granted and that she had been captured but alas, this was not the case. The small, stupid human handed me over to the large, stupid one, she picked up Stephanie and cradled her, Stephanie hugged her back. I vomited at the sight of such affection and the large, stupid human deposited me back inside the prison walls after muttering obscenities that I had soiled his uniform.

I watched from the clear barrier and shuddered at the thought of meeting her again-at least tonight I would be safe from her clutches. The first time we met was such an encounter that it still haunts my dreams.

A picture of Stephanie…one of the gypsies that the warden feeds.

Seabass’ Diary…Day 15…

April 12, 2016-I had come up with the perfect plan to eliminate Simbicile! If I could pat myself on the back I would because I deserved it for being so clever. I emerged from my hiding spot and went to spend some time stalking my prey. I would have to know his habits, his daily routine as it were, in order to make the most of my revenge.

Simbicile was laying in a puddle of sunlight in the living room and was snoring ever so slightly .It looked like The Sunbeam had claimed yet another victim. I snickered to myself as I surveyed the fat cat…He was so pudgy and round, this would be easier than I thought! He lifted his head ever so slightly to canvass the room around him but alas, he could not detect me. I was a mere figment of his imagination. He groomed himself for a moment and it looked to me as if he was made of butter or had no bones…he was just a pile of fluff, a pillow with legs.

Part one of my plan was about to be executed and oh how glorious it would be! I raced to the eating room table and pulled down the cloth that was covering it, objects crashed to the floor with a thunderous smash! There was a container holding foliage that tipped over and caused water to splash all over the floor. What a glorious mess! Simbicile came rushing over to see what all the commotion was about, his eyes looked as big as saucers! I laid in wait; I had an excellent vantage point on top of a chair cushion that was securely pushed under the table. I would be invisible to anyone who entered the room. Simbicile waddled over to the foliage that was strewn all over the floor and started to crunch on some leaves…I must admit they are delicious and he could clearly use more greens in his diet.

The small, stupid human entered the room and let out a shriek! She looked at Simbicile who was on top of the rubble and scooped him up. She shook her head in disbelief then wagged her wretched finger at him and said he was a “naughty kitty!” She put him in the shoe room and shut the door-he whined in anger and I could make out some of the things he was calling me. I laughed maniacally and changed positions to make it look like I had just emerged from my lair when the small, stupid human returned to the mess. She looked at me and raised an eyebrow as she said, “I expected this from you but not him!” Excellent. My plan was working perfectly. She cleaned up the mess which seemed to take forever and I weaved in and out of her legs, all while brushing up against her. I know…it took every fibre of my being not to lash out at her and destroy her but this was all part of my plan. She scooped me up and said, “I’m sorry I thought it was you!” I vomited ever so slightly in my mouth…oh how I hated her. Simbicile could still be heard yelling from the shoe room at the top of his voice. The small, stupid human was still restraining me and we walked over to the closed door. She opened it and there stood Simbicile with a shocked look on his face…he could not believe what was happening. The small stupid human was carrying me instead of him? How could this be? His face clearly asked. I smiled an evil smile at him from atop the small, stupid human’s shoulder…my plan was working…the golden feline had fallen from grace and his fall would be a long one.

Completely unsuspecting…

Seabass’ Diary…Day 9…

April 6, 2016-I was deposited into a motorized vehicle of sorts and tried to get my bearings. It was hard to focus in the sunlight. The small human secured the trapping station to the seat with some sort of buckle; I narrowed my eyes at her and tried to make her burst into flames but my attempts were in vain. When we finally reached our destination, I screamed at the top of my lungs to alert any potential kinsmen of my capture and I prayed that they would come to my rescue.

We entered the structure through a small door and I was placed on some sort of weighing device. Perhaps I was there to have my organs harvested…I let out another wail and began to hiss. I could smell canines, some sort of antiseptic agent and fear. The small human smugly looked at me and conversed with a yellow haired female who sat behind a desk. They seemed to be mocking me and I would not stand for it a moment longer. I saw horrible things…animals in metal jails…clanging their cups across the bars, singing the songs of their people. Some of these songs I recognized, for they were the SAME songs of MY people. This place held possible allies…I would need to find a way to free them and then I would win their loyalty. We could defeat the enemy this way as there is strength in numbers.

I was air lifted into a small room that was void of décor of any kind. There was a small metal table, a  chair and canisters that held various medicines and antidotes. I looked around and tried to gather my wits; I noted the exits and calculated an escape route. The small, stupid human would let me out of the animal trapping station at any moment and I would make a run for it; it was the only way that I could ensure my survival and avoid the alien probe. I had been probed by the alien before… and I in turn caused her a great deal of pain, so much so that she needed 10 stitches. Now the alien refuses to touch me without a sturdy pair of fire retardant gloves. I once Googled the gloves and the description read, “The proper protective equipment is important when you’re welding. Our 21 Inch FR Insulated Welders Gloves are specifically designed protect your hands and forearms from the hot sparks and heat generated during the welding process.” I do not know what this welding is that they speak of but it is nothing compared to the fury I was about to unleash on the unsuspecting alien and the small human.

I licked my lips, my heart raced…I was ready. The small human finally lifted the roof off of the enclosure and this was my chance! I lunged at her and growled with all of my might, I jumped onto the metal table and then the door opened; It was the leader of the aliens! She cautiously approached me and I could sense her dread, I had the upper hand. I backed into a corner and widened my eyes; I swatted at her when she reached for me and was disappointed that she had remembered to wear the gloves from the last time I was here. I skittered between her knees and ran to the open door; at last FREEDOM! I raced down the hall as fast as I could, my back legs slid out behind me as I rounded the corner. The yellow haired assistant alien was in the hallway and witnessed my escape; she tried to seize me with her arms thrust outward but I would not surrender!
