Seabass’ Diary…Day 141…FBI

April 24, 2017-I shifted my weight. I already knew that he wasn’t who I thought he was, he was only reiterating the fact.

“Ok, then why don’t you go ahead and tell me who you are,” I said firmly.

“You don’t need to get upset; who I am doesn’t change anything,” Simba said.

“Then why are you stalling?” I said and narrowed my eyes at him.

“Come with me, I can’t tell you exactly, but I can show you,” he said, and I followed him to the prison library. I had been in the library a million times not a thing was out of place and to be frank, it was boring. Books lived here, from floor to ceiling. Odd books, rare books, textbooks and the classics. This was the place where the small, stupid human tapped away at her keyboard, while I sat on it to be a pain. I loved putting myself in front of whatever she was doing because this was a clear message that I was in charge; it worked every time because she always stopped what she was doing to pick me up and pet me.

I followed Simba to the back corner of the library and watched as he shuffled some books around like a puzzle. My eyes grew wider when I realized what was happening.

“Stand back,” he said, and for once I obeyed him. A large portion of the wall began to creak and groan, and with a giant “THUMP” it opened to reveal a staircase.

I swallowed hard,”What is this place?” Simba ignored me, picked up a lit torch and led us into the darkness.

We finally reached an iron gate with a scanner on the wall. Simba held up his left paw, and we were granted access.

I blinked quickly because I couldn’t believe my eyes. Was this real? Was it true?

“Welcome to headquarters, I’m special agent Simba Mufasa of the FBI,” he said.

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation?” I squeaked.

“No, the FELINE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION,” he said as he flashed his badge.

The walls closed in on me, and the world went black.

Seabass’ Diary…Day 38…Lift-Off!

May 10, 2016-It was finally time. The small, stupid human left for work and I had all of the items that I needed to facilitate the robbery; Operation Luigi had officially begun. I followed Simba to the basement and like a ninja, I remained invisible…he looked behind him a few times before entering the secret tunnel but alas, I became merely a shadow. I quoted one of my favourite villains of all time while I thought of Simba sneaking around and one day I would say this to his face, “Ah, you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding.”

He entered the corridor first and I set my watch. I waited precisely forty seconds and then entered behind him. The other mercenaries were waiting for him outside of the vent. He squeezed his massive girth through the tight space and was now free. I watched from inside the darkness for a moment and stalked the crew until they got to the corner. We rounded the sidewalk and there in all of it’s glory, was the Luigi’s Catering truck.

The smells from the truck danced on the wind and quickly floated to my nostrils; it was intoxicating. Simba gathered the unit and went over the final details of the plan. I remained in the bushes just out of sight and set my Panoramic Night Vision goggles to stun…just kidding, they don’t have that feature but I wished they did…Damn, that’s what I should’ve ordered from the Amazon-next time. The wedlock’s backyard was filled with tiny twinkling lights and a large, white tent; stupid humans filled the space and were dressed in fancy clothes. Simba finally announced, “It is time.”

Seabass’Diary…Day 32…Found

May 2, 2016- I scrambled around the prison and looked everywhere for Simba. I searched all of his regular hiding spots but alas I could not locate his whereabouts.I retreated to my lair to think in silence; I needed a plan and I needed one now.

I paced back and forth; why was it that when I needed to do something quickly, my brilliant mind suddenly went blank?  I heard a scratching sound above my head and looked up-nothing. A few seconds later I heard it again…I climbed onto the clothes washing shelf and investigated…there it was again-the sound was coming from behind a board at the top of the wall. I pushed on the board with all of my strength and then something extraordinary happened-the wall opened up to reveal a secret tunnel. My heart raced and I could hear the sound of it fill my ears at that very second I knew what I had to do.

I entered the tunnel cautiously for there was barely any light except for a few shards that barely shattered the cloak of inky darkness. My palms were sweating and my breathing became shallow-this felt extremely dangerous. I followed the sound of the scratching, it was getting closer. I felt my way through the corridor blindly, the blackness seemed to stretch into forever…the scratching had suddenly stopped and I felt myself becoming increasingly nervous. Perhaps Simba had laid a trap for me-after all I had done to him it would not come as a surprise; it was quite possible that he was luring me to my death. I gulped back my fear and continued on my trek …I could hear voices. I rounded a corner and a blast of bright light burned my retinas; I tried to focus but the brightness made it difficult. I rubbed my eyes and blinked hard and some of the blurry images finally came into focus. My heart beat wildly in my chest and I gasped…could this be possible? Tell me it was not so! What I witnessed next made me question EVERYTHING I ever thought I knew about…Simba.
