June 5, 2017- We marched forward. Thoughts ran through my mind of how we were possibly going to escape this situation. I hope that Simba had a plan but I wasn’t going to leave my fate or his fate in anyone else’s hands.
I was angry with him. He knew better than to trust canines and here he was putting his trust in this Dog that I had never met, that I knew nothing about. Now we were pretty much hostages.
“I trussst that you’ve changed your mindsss in assssisssting me,” Hugo slithered.
“What choice do we have?” I challenged.
“HAHAHA! You’re right! There isssss no choice!”
“Your son isn’t really missing is he?” Simba stated. We both knew the answer to the question without Hugo confirming our suspicions.
“Sssson? What sssson?” Hugo laughed.
I felt sick to my stomach. I knew that there was something wrong with Hugo but I never imagined that he was willing to lie about having a son in order to trick us into coming with him.
I looked at Simba and he stared back at me. I knew what he was thinking and I was thinking the same thing; if you’re ever in a situation where someone is trying to abduct you, never, ever let them take you to the next location. If they get you to the next location, the chances of escaping and making it out alive greatly diminish.
As we followed Hugo out of the back gate and into the wooded area behind the prison, I decided it was time for a distraction.
